Kichat Privacy Policy

At Encoderpie, we place great importance on protecting the privacy of users of the Kichat program, Kichat Proxy API, and Kichat Connect (Google extension) (collectively referred to as "Kichat Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how your personal data is collected, used, stored, and protected when you use Kichat Services. Please read this policy carefully to understand your rights and responsibilities regarding your data.

1. Data We Collect

We may collect the following data when you use Kichat Services:

1.1. Kichat Program

  • Authentication Data: When you log in to use the Kichat program, we collect information such as authentication tokens. These tokens are used to securely manage your session.

1.2. Kichat Proxy API

  • Communication Data: For rate limiting and DDoS protection purposes, metadata such as your IP address and request timestamps may be stored for 24 hours. This data is never shared, sold, or transferred to third parties.

  • Error Logs: To ensure the API functions properly, we may collect error messages and performance data. This data does not contain personal information and is used solely to resolve technical issues.

1.3. Kichat Connect (Google Extension)

  • Browser Data: Kichat Connect collects only cookies from kick.com and securely transfers them to the locally running Kichat program (via localhost). No data other than these cookies is collected, exported, or shared with third parties.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • Service Provision: Authentication tokens and cookies are used to ensure the proper functioning of Kichat Services.

3. How We Store and Protect Your Data

The security of your data is a priority for us. We take the following measures:

3.1. Local Storage (Kichat Program)

  • Encryption: Critical user information, such as authentication tokens, is encrypted using your device's secure storage mechanisms (e.g., Windows Credential Manager, macOS Keychain, or equivalent systems on Linux).

  • Access Restrictions: Locally stored data can only be accessed by the Kichat program and is not shared with other applications.

3.2. Server Storage (Kichat Proxy API and Supabase)

  • Encryption: The Kichat Proxy API securely transmits requests to kick.com via the HTTPS protocol and returns responses to the user. No data is logged or stored except for IP addresses and request timestamps.

  • Database (Supabase): Tokens transferred to the Kichat program are stored encrypted in the Supabase database. Only authorized systems can access this (encrypted) data, and it is protected with strict access controls.

  • Temporary Storage: IP addresses and request timestamps collected for rate limiting and DDoS protection are automatically deleted after 24 hours.

  • Security Limitations: While the HTTPS protocol ensures secure data transmission, we cannot guarantee 100% protection against security threats arising from internet infrastructure. We follow the best security practices to mitigate such risks.

3.3. Browser Storage (Kichat Connect)

  • Limited Data Transfer: Kichat Connect collects only kick.com cookies and securely transfers them to the Kichat program (via localhost). No data is exported or shared externally.

  • Data Minimization: The extension collects only the minimum data necessary for the service to function.

4. About Your Data

  • Third-Party Sharing: Kichat Services do not share, sell, or rent user data to third parties unless required by law or with your explicit consent.

  • Service Providers: We may work with technical service providers (e.g., Supabase for database hosting) to support Kichat Services. These providers process your data only under our instructions and are subject to strict confidentiality agreements.

5. Compliance with Kick.com Policies

By using Kichat Services, you agree to abide by the following kick.com policies:

  • Community Guidelines

  • DMCA Policy

  • Privacy Policy

  • Terms of Service

Users must comply with these kick.com policies when using Kichat Services. Kichat provides a proxy system (Kichat Proxy API) independent of kick.com’s official API, enabling developers to integrate with kick.com. However, such use requires full compliance with kick.com’s policies.

6. Your Rights Over Your Data

When using Kichat Services, you have the following rights:

  • Data Access: You can view data stored on your device (e.g., authentication tokens).

  • Correction: You can request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.

  • Deletion: You can request the deletion of your data.

To exercise these rights, please contact us at encoderpie@gmail.com.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

  • Kichat Connect: The extension collects only kick.com cookies and transfers them to the Kichat program. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

8. Legal Disclaimer

Kichat is an independent third-party chat client software and has no affiliation, endorsement, or partnership with kick.com. This project aims to provide an alternative chat experience while fully respecting kick.com’s terms of service and privacy policies. The use of Kichat Services does not imply any partnership or official relationship with kick.com.

9. Changes and Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the Kichat program, Kichat Connect extension, or our website (https://kichat.dev). Users should regularly review the updated policies. By continuing to use Kichat Services, you agree to the changes made to this policy.
